Hypnosis Tape Quit Smoking
Glenn Harrold (born 21 June 1962 - on the summer solstice - in Balham, London, England) is a British Hypnotherapist, musician, songwriter and author of many self-help CDs.
Background
From the age of 12, Glenn Harrold often slept rough on the streets. He fell in with the wrong crowd and experimented with drugs and alcohol. After a health scare and a warning from doctors at age 17, he cleaned up and is now virtually teetotal.
Before moving on to hypnotherapy, Glenn was a performing and recording musician, who made his living playing guitar in bars and clubs. In his teens as a punk rocker he played bass guitar in a band called The Vagrants , who morphed into the Sugar Ray Five . In 1983, they won £10,000 in the BBC 1 national Battle of the Bands . They were then signed to a major label, released a few singles and appeared on various TV shows, but their brush with fame was brief.
Glenn now lives in Kent with his wife Alyson.
Professional career
Glenn’s interest in hypnosis came about after sharing the bill with a stage hypnotist. He took this interest further and studied for two years with the British School of Clinical Hypnotherapy . He is now a full Diplomat member of the British School of Clinical Hypnosis ; the only hypnotherapy organisation in the UK affiliated with the training of NHS doctors and other health professionals in the art of hypnotherapy.
He began making home produced hypnosis tapes in the late 1990s which he sold to local stores. His hypnosis CDs have since become the UK's best selling self-help CDs. In 2006 Glenn received his first gold disc from Nielsen BookScan for sales in excess of £250,000 of his best selling CD title, Complete Relaxation.
Glenn also writes self-help books for Orion Publishing in the UK and McGraw Hill in the USA, and produces hypnotherapy CDs for BBC audiobooks and his own company Diviniti Publishing.
He has twice been a guest on Steve Wright In The Afternoon the BBC Radio 2 show and has appeared on BBC Breakfast on BBC One and has been featured in numerous British newspapers and magazine articles. In September 2009, Closer Magazine featured a four page article about Glenn and some of the celebrities that he has helped to overcome phobias and addictions.
Glenn continues to write and record music. A dance track of his called "Transparency" won 1st prize in the dance category at the International Song of the Year competition. This song has since been signed up by Music in Head, an Italian dance company who have had many hits in Europe. Transparency has been re-mixed and 4 different versions are available in stores and on iTunes.
